Week of March 21-27, 2011

The week of March 21st to March 27th

One of the more exciting developments for this week was Owen wrote his name legibly for the first time.  He was excited, but refused to take full credit for writing his name.  For his birthday we asked him if he wanted to go to the zoo, but he has been adamant about making sure all of his school friends can come to his party so we will soon be planning.

Rachel and the kids came back from Walla Walla on Sunday and we went for an awesome hike around the south side of Mt. Erie.  It was great to have them back.  Although they were only gone a few days, there were lots of developments.  Rachel was showing her pregnancy more (only in the front).  Ella was saying a lot of full sentences.  Owen looked like he grew about 2 inches. Owen and Ella are beginning to play together more.  They have their sibling bickering, but if she falls, he is right there "Ella, I will pick you up" and when he is climbing, Ella cheers him on and tries to follow.  It is really cool.

Ella is now able to run on the trail.  Rachel was going to walk ahead to get some more strenuous exercise but to we all ended up hiking at a fast enough pace where we could all stay together.

A few other neat things, on Saturday morning, I was laying in Owen's bed reading his stories and my stomach growled.  He said Dad, "you stay right there, I know what your belly needs" and he got me a banana.  He was really excited and I was hungry.
